Game Week 2

Oh what an interesting weekend (and Monday night) its been for football. There seems to be a new magic number so far this season see if you can figure out what that is?

We kicked off with a complete domination at The Emirates with Arsenal putting 6 past a very different looking Blackpool team from last weekends heroics. Chelsea too managed another 6 past an even worse looking Wigan from last weeks embarrassing defeat to Blackpool. Newcastle joined in the fun by slotting errr how many was it again? Oh yes! Another 6 goals how very original of them. Newcastle chose this week to humiliate Aston Villa by kicking them when they were well and truly not down.

There were victories for Birmingham as they edged past a frustrated looking Blackburn, Tottenham over a solid looking Stoke, West Brom as Odemwingie knocked in a latish winner and also a win for Bolton who's turn it was to put 3 past West Ham.

The most interesting tie of the weekend for me had to be the game between Fulham and Manchester United. Interesting for a few reasons the first being that it was a bloody good game of end to end football the second being that there was a penalty save and the third being that Brede Hangeland was not happy with the score of 1-1 so decided to score for both teams and make it a fair 2-2 finish.

This makes me ask the question, Did he have a bet on the score being 2-2? Or has he been getting coached on the art of scoring for other teams as well as your own from the likes of Jamie Carragher?

The final game if Game Week 2 saw Manchester City host Liverpool. Being that I am a Liverpool Fan you might notice that there is a hell of a lot more things written about their games on this blog but you will just have t deal with it!

Anyway this week I have decided not to go on about Liverpool and just say it was a lacklustre performance from the Reds and they were duly beaten. Carlos Tevez put in the sort of performance that must have further more made Sir Alex watching in the stand regret not signing him on a full contract. Also a good performance from Johnson who looked a constant threat down the right wing earning his side a penalty in the process.

It was of course also the first time the City fans got a look at their latest capture in the shape of James Milner. He had a solid game and showed why so much money had been spent on the boy.

Again Manchester looked solid at the back with some great saves from the man keeping Shay Given warming the bench and peering in the direction of North London(Arsenal not Spurs), Joe Hart. It just makes me wonder how the summer would have gone if he was not only the City number one............
